Buffalo Bayou Partnership

Over the past year and a half as we have been settling into our new digs in Houston we have been looking for groups in the community to help us promote and grow paddling in Houston.   We have found the perfect partner in the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.

The BBP was created in 1986 by then Mayor Kathy Whitmire.  Since their inception the BBP has made paddling Buffalo Bayou a pleasant and exciting way to see Houston.  Part of the BBP master plan includes paddling and hiking trails along the Bayou, establishing Sesquicentennial Park, updating Allen’s Landing, and the future plans of renovating the International Coffee Building at Alan’s landing as a hub for BBP and a Kayak and Canoe Rental Facility.

ACK-Houston has helped BBP with a Donation of a Kayak as a Grand Prize for the annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta, conducting paddling classes for regatta corporate teams, and recently joining forces with St Arnold’s beer in the BBP adopt-a-spot program.   We hope to see you on the Bayou soon!
